Just returned from our journey. For me it was a combination of recreation and learning. The first week we stayed at the lake Constance and I attended the quilt festival at Radolfzell. There were some terrific exhibitions and I took two classes which I enjoyed very much. Moreover there were several shops and I just couldn't resist buying some material: Exquisite fiber from Anne Lange (who taught one of the classes I attended), some beautifully dyed and printed linen and some necessities like quilting needles.
Afterwards we traveled to Austria. The weather wasn't really good but at least we always had a roof above when it started raining. We had some days at Bad Hofgastein, took a trip to Salzburg and finished with two days in Regensburg. Altogether we rode for about 2000 km because my DH loves to ride his car and he just couldn't resist the passes of the Alps.
By the way, I took my Hawaii quilt with me and quilted at least an hour every evening. The piece is nearly finished by now - it will be a tough finish.
