Seems as if summer would come back, although rather tentatively. I do hope to have somewhat less rain the next three days. I will visit my DH (darling husband) at lake Genève. He plans a little journey into the Alps if the weather holds. The last time we tried that clouds were hovering about 10 feet above ground and it was pouring - I really would have preferred to stay in bed that day!
My study is nearly finished. My daughter will use it as her room again and therefore she threw my fabric trolleys out. She wanted something more elegant - I thinks she just didn't want to see how much money her mother is hoarding in the shape of fat quarters! I will set up a foto when everything is complete. I am very thankful that she did this for me, although there will be some hard times coming until I find my way around in her organizing system. At least I will be able to sew again next week. I get a little itchy when I have no access to my sewing machine for so long.

This is the page for my fabric book in construction dealing with crazy stitching. How I am going to put the different pages together is an issue I have yet to deal with. There are so many possibilities that I really don't know how to procede. A point I will have to take into consideration is whether the pages are going to have a front and back. This influences the construction process very much.

Mit viel Zähigkeit und Hilfe sowohl von Beate (gell, Beate, viele mails gingen hin und her) und meinem Sohn habe ich es endlich geschafft, auch ein Bild in mein Profil zu laden. Langsam nimmt der Blog Gestalt an. Mit ein wenig Übung denke ich, werde ich es auch schaffen, mich hier so leicht zu bewegen wie in Yahoo. Wenn ich mir die Blogs von etwas fortgeschrittenen Nutzern ansehe - hallo Beate! - denke ich, daß sich der Aufwand lohnt. Es sieht einfach viel schöner aus als in Yahoo und macht mehr her. Erstaunlich ist der Zeitaufwand, den man betreibt, um solche Dinge "aus der Taufe zu heben". Aber was solls, unser Urlaub wurde abgesagt und Zeit ist jetzt genau das, was ich habe. Wie sagte die Großmutter meines Mannes immer: Es ist nichts so schlecht, daß es nicht auch für etwas gut wäre....

Dragonquilts

Nun hat es endlich mit dem ersten Foto geklappt. Wenn ich es jetzt noch schaffe, auch noch ein Foto ins Profil hochzuladen, bin ich hoch zufrieden. Anscheinend bin ich doch nicht so ein ganz hoffnungsloser Fall mit dem Computer wie ich gestern noch dachte, als es mir noch nicht einmal gelang, in meinen eigenen Blog zu kommen! Und das Hochladen eines Fotos für das Profil werde ich auch noch hinbekommen, das wäre doch gelacht!
Das Experimentieren mit der Kombination Filz, Organza und Lötkolben hat ganz nette Ergebnisse gebracht, allerdings waren weder der Filz noch alle Organzastoffe wirklich für diese Technik geeignet. Ich hoffe sehr, bald eine Lieferquelle für den echten Kuninfilz zu finden. Wegen der durchsichtigen Stoffe werde ich auch noch mal auf die Pirsch gehen müssen.

Der wholecloth Quilt, obwohl nur klein, macht mir immer wieder Freude. Handquilten ist so was Entspannendes!

Nachdem unser Urlaub abgesagt werden mußte, nutze ich jetzt die Zeit, unter dieser Anschrift einen neuen Blog zu beginnen. Yahoo war mir doch ein wenig zu einfach in seiner Darstellung. Dort die ersten Schritte zu machen, war als Einstieg ganz nett, doch scheint die Veröffentlichung hier etwas "professioneller" zu sein. Mir macht das Tagebuchschreiben in dieser Form jedoch Spaß, so daß ich dies nun hier weiterführen werde.

Since our holidays were cancelled I use the time to start a new blog with this address. Yahoo was somewhat simple in its presentation. For the first steps in blogging it was quite okay but presentation here seems to be a bit more "professionel". I found out that I like this form of keeping a diary, so that I will proceed to do this here.
