When I had made my first Hawaiian quilt I thought that I would never make one again - it is quite a lot of work. However, when my stepmother told me that this quilt was the most beautiful one she had ever seen it was clear that I would have to make one for her as well. So I made another one, and she is now the proud owner of the above quilt.
It was - as typical for a Hawaiian quilt - hand appliqued and hand quilted heavily. I have been working at this quilt for 7 months every day.
Nachdem ich meinen ersten Hawai-Quilt gemacht habe, wollte ich eigentlich nie mehr einen machen. Aber meine Stiefmutter meinte, er wäre das Schönste, was sie je gesehen habe, und so war klar, daß ich Ihr auch einen machen würde. Ich habe an diesem Teil 7 Monate jeden Tag gearbeitet. Er ist, wie für einen Hawai-Quilt typisch, handappliziert und ganz stark handgequiltet.
